Moving is never fun, but usually something everyone must face. Orgainizing your move really depends on avoiding moving mistakes and planning ahead to make the process as smooth as possible.

• Pack a box of essentials. Consider items that you may need the first couple of days like clothing, towels, toilet paper, cleaning supplies, medication, phone chargers, etc. If you can, transport this box yourself. Don’t forget comfort items for small children and pets!
• Do not pack valuables, family photos, financial documents, passports, birth certificates or any other important documents. Take these items to your new residence yourself.
• Box your items carefully and in an organized manner. You’ll thank yourself later when you unpack.
• Label all boxes clearly with the contents and room. (Example: kitchen, pots)
• If you’re packing heavier items like books or dishes, pack them in smaller boxes.
• Avoid using garbage bags or open top boxes.
• All furniture and drawers must be emptied with the exception of soft items such as sheets, towels, or clothing. Anything that can roll or spill should not be packed inside furniture. Often times we’ll need to turn a piece of furniture sideways to get through doorways and up/down stairs.
• Most importantly, be ready when our crew arrives! Have all cabinets and closets emptied. For the safety of children and pets please keep them away from the crew. Its hard to see around boxes and furniture as its beings moved. We don’t want anyone getting stepped on or wandering off.
